About Project Spotlight
Project Spotlight is a program sponsored by SVHSA (Silicon Valley Holocaust Survivor Association), to help, among other goals, keep the stories of local survivors alive through local youth and young adults, and give them a personal and meaningful way to learn about the Holocaust and its ramifications.
The project has two tracks:
Track 1 - SURVIVOR STORIES - Survivor Spotlight
Aimed for students in 6th-8th grade (or older), to connect with a survivor or their descendants by spotlighting (sharing) their story.
Select a local survivor stories from the list on the “Local Survivor Stories” page in the Project Spotlight menu.
OR add a new personal story of a local family member or friend that has not been shared yet.
Once you’ve selected a story please fill out the Participation Form below and let us know how you plan to share the story.
Track 2 - CREATE A VIRTUAL MUSEUM - CHAIM Station Spotlight
Aimed for students in High School or College, to connect in depth with one aspect of Holocaust history by creating a compelling, interactive page for this website as a way to teach others. For students with ability or desire to learn to use Squarespace as a tool for website design (assuming this format is continued), and/or who would like to add this project to their portfolio.
For more details about the topics your can choose from see the “Museum Content Page” in this Project Spotlight menu.
Once you’ve selected the topic you’d like to work on, please fill out the Participation Form below and submit.
Once we receive your form, we will set up a meeting to further discuss your ideas, implementation, and timeline.
